Fork Lift Trucks (FLT) are the most commonly used type of mechanical handling equipment. Whilst Lift Trucks are widely used and supremely versatile, there are numerous risks associated with their use and sadly far too many serious injuries and deaths are the result of incorrect use. Statistics show that lack of correct operator training is a major factor in many of these accidents.
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, employers must ensure that all operators they employ, both new and existing, are adequately trained, and, when necessary, provide for their additional or refresher training.”
