This one day course aims to demystify much of the "black art" of health and safety. It is ideal for the manager or supervisor who has little or no knowledge of their role or responsibilities in the health and safety area.
Effective risk assessment is crucial for the input of any robust health and safety system. This course covers the fundamentals of risk assessment and action planning and is aimed at those junior managers and supervisors who have this responsibility in the workplace.
Wherever there are substances that are likely to be hazardous to the health of employees, and employer is required to carry out a COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) assessment. This one day course enables the individual to carry out that assessment.
Back problems and those associated with manual handling are the largest group of work related injuries reported to HSE. It is no surprise either to discover that this is also the case for the largest proportion of claims made by employees against employers! Employers have a duty of care to ensure that all manual handling is carried out safely and that those doing it have been properly trained. The Specialist manual handling course does exactly that.
